AC Multimeter Can Make Non-Invasive Measurements

Nov. 1, 1999

This lightweight, portable, battery-powered digital clamp-on multimeter measures most of the common ac currents and voltages encountered when troubleshooting residential and small commercial electrical systems. Model 312 AC clamp-on multimeter is well-suited for front-line system analysis, such as for appliance repair and maintenance, electrical maintenance, HVAC servicing, and industrial maintenance. Non-invasive measurements of up to 400A ac (±2% + 10), up to 600 vac (±1% + 10-), and up to 600 vdc (±1.5% + 10) can be made by the meter. And the meter can also measure up to 400W of voltage resistance (±1% + 5) and 40W of audible continuity. A Data Hold feature lets users freeze the 3-3/4-digit LCD readings. Other meter features include automatic range selection, over-range and low battery indicators, automatic power off after 30 minutes, and maximum jaw opening of 1.06".
