MU Connectors Feature Space-Saving Design

The SMU series of MU connectors features a miniature sub-assembly design that reduces the number of required component pieces from seven to five. The assemblies offer core-eccentricity adjustment in four positions and comply with the UL94 VO standard. Each connector is composed of single-mode fiber and zirconia ceramic ferrule material and will accommodate a fiber cordage diameter of 2, 1.1 and 0.9 mm. Other features of the connectors include insertion-loss rates as low as 0.25 dB and typical return-loss ranges of 50 to 55 dB. They are available in duplex, 8-way and 16-way versions.
