Contact Inserts Make Quick Connections

May 1, 2001

Designed for use with HEAVYCON-B industrial plug connectors, the QUiX contact inserts are rated for voltages up to 500V and current up to 16A. They are said to be easily terminated via their use of insulation-displacement technology. The inserts require no stripping of wires, need no special tools, and boast of time savings of up to 80% compared to competitive devices.
They are available with six, 10, 16 and 24 positions, in plug and socket versions, with each connection equipped with a 2-mm test point. And the inserts can be used to make screw, crimp, or spring-cage connections. They also offer plug-in keying pins, which prevents several identical plug connectors from being plugged in incorrectly.
