Batteries Power Emergency Roadside Assistance Systems

June 1, 2001

These Pulses Plus batteries are specifically designed for emergency roadside assistance systems, automatic mayday systems and other GPS and RFID-based systems. Most roadside assistance systems rely upon the vehicles' main battery as the power source. However, in extremely cold weather or in the even of an accident, the main power source can be disabled. This problem can be avoided by using the Pulses Plus lithium battery either as back-up or as the primary power source. The 3.6V primary batteries utilize lithium thionyl chloride chemistry to deliver high voltage, high capacity and lower self-discharge demanded by the systems. The batteries, which have the ability to withstand extreme temperatures, come in a variety of configurations, including cylindrical cells and battery packs.
