Card-Edge Connector Suits High-Speed, High-Density Applications

Oct. 1, 1999

Applications in servers, workstations and high-end PCs are served by the SEC-Z card edge connector, which has uses as a memory expansion connector and a multiple CPU interface. The connector offers high signal densities and provides dual in-line pins with a 0.025 -in. pitch, which equates to signal line densities of 80 lines per inch. Crosstalk amounts to less than 1% at 200 pS, using a 1:1 signal-to-ground ratio. Durability is 100 connect-disconnect cycles minimum.
