Field-Programmable Analog IC Can Assume Numerous Duties

The convenience of field-programmable logic devices is said to be brought to the analog world by the firm’s Field-Programmable Analog Device (FPAD). The part, which is designated TRAC (for Totally Reconfigurable Analog Circuit), takes a computational approach to analog and signal-processing circuit design.TRAC uses eight electrically reconfigurable high-level building blocks to implement any mathematical or transfer function. Each TRAC cell can be set up to provide: log, antilog, add, negate, rectify, amplify, differentiate, integrate, open circuit, and short circuit. Typical uses include audio, analog correlation, echo cancellation, and more.
