A new range of radio-frequency (rf) surge protectors and attenuators are said to be well-suited for use in protecting microwave installations and base station equipment from lightning damage. Lynics rf surge protectors are available in both dc-through and dc-cut types; the attenuators are available in standard and high-power versions and are complemented by a range of impedance transformers and terminators.
Six dc-through type surge protectors are available with the following connector formats: BNC-PJ, BNC-JJ, TNC-PJ, TNC-JJ, N-PJ and N-JJ. Each has a frequency range of from dc to 2 GHz. Three dc-cut types are available: BNC-PJ, TNC-PJ and N-PJ. Each has a frequency range of from 100 MHz to 2 GHz. Both types have a VSWR of 1.2, insertion loss of 0.3 dB, and impedance of 50 ohms.
