Designed to attach small gauge wires to electrical and electronic devices, such as semiconductors, switches and sensors, these new, uninsulated butt splices replace welding and soldering of wires to devices with a simple crimp termination. Constructed of unplated brass and rated for a -40¡C to 150¡C operating temperature range, the splices are rated for loads up to 3A and have a maximum resistance of 10 m½.The uninsulated butt splices and devices can be applied to the wire with the companyÕs Ampomator COS IV+ lead making machine. The splices cost $20/1,000 in 1M quantities. For more details, contact TYCO ELECTRONICS, Technical Support Center, Harrisburg, PA. (800) 522-6752.
