Technology Debugs Complex SoC Software

Feb. 1, 2002

Offered as a new technology, Multi-Dimensional Scaling Support (MDS2) is said to enable the debugging of software in complex system-on-chip (SoC) environments. MDS2 supports SoCs with multi-taps, multi-cores, multi-architectures, multi-sessions, multi-contexts, and multi-trace modes. Users can observe the operation of a multi-threaded program with multiple-thread operation. It is possible to debug code running on cores that provide multiple register sets and multiple microengines. In addition, the technology supports embedded CPU cores with trace facilities that either require off-chip trace collection or provide on-chip trace buffers.
