PC-Based Control Software Improves Interfaces

Dec. 1, 2000

The entire interface has been streamlined to two MDI windows; one for program development and the other for project management and runtime control in version 3.0 of IOWorks PC-based control software. The usability and speed of these interfaces has been further enhanced by taking advantage of the Windows NT development environment. In addition to interface improvements, the new version also provides a more PLC-like workflow. Other features and enhancements include: the merger of Soft Logic Link and the IOWorks Manager interfaces into a single, simplified interface; extensive drag-and-drop support with numerous pop-up menus to speed operations; hot-swap undo enables the users to quickly revert back to a previous program version; customized import/export of symbol data; conversion utilities for workspaces, modules, and Visual files for backward compatibility; added support for rung comments; and more. Pricing for version 3.0 is set at $799.
