R/D Converters Offer New Programmable Features

Oct. 1, 2000

The RD-19230 series of 16-bit resolver-to-digital (R/D) converters is claimed to be ideal for high-performance industrial and commercial positioning systems. It offers user-programmable encoder emulation, resolution, bandwidth, tracking rate, and velocity scaling. This monolithic CMOS chip delivers an accuracy to 2.3 arc minutes. The RD-19230 accepts two sets of bandwidth components, a feature that enables users to switch the resolution on-the-fly between 10-, 12-, 14- or 16-bit settings with minimal upset to velocity and position information. Operating temperature for both devices is -40°C to +85°C.
