Field Controllers Offload Host PCs Of I/O Logic

Dec. 1, 1999

A line of programmable controllers is said to allow easy programming of complex control tasks and easy integration into PC-based control systems. The INTERBUS Field Controller with PC ISA interface is available in two performance levels to suit various application needs. The Field Controllers perform I/O control logic independent from the host PC, allowing the PC to complete tasks such as visualization and data acquisition. The controllers are programmed and configured with PC WORX, the firm’s IEC61131-based automation software. Through the software, the controllers offer easy data exchanges to various visualization packages in compliance with the OPC standard.Model IBS ISA FC/486DX/I-T has a 486/133-MHz coprocessor; the compact IBS ISA FC/I-T is for small- to mid-range automation applications.
