Current-Loop Transmitters Suit Industrial Sensors

May 1, 2000

Designed for industrial sensor and signal acquisition systems, the XTR115 and XTR116 four- to 20-ma current loop transmitters interface high loop-supply voltage, up to 36V, to low-level, 5-V input circuitry. The devices feature a low quiescent current of 200 µA, wide loop supply range of 7.5 to 36V, 5-V regulator for powering external circuits, precision voltage reference for sensor excitation, and a span error of 0.05%. A current-return pin senses any current used in external circuitry to ensure an accurate control of the output current. Available in a SO-8 package, pricing is from $0.95 each/1000.
