Cabinets Provide Battery Protection Indoors And Out

July 1, 2000

The company's new electronics cabinet is said to be specifically designed to protect back-up batteries from harsh and adverse indoor and outdoor conditions. The housing features a louver-ventilated design that uses natural convection and forced ventilation to ensure proper air exchange and prevent hydrogen-gas build-up. Up to six strings of four batteries each can be accommodated in either vertical- or horizontal-mounting configurations. External cable-entry points enable entry from any side of the cabinet, as well as cable management for multiple cabinet applications. This lightweight welded, aluminum cabinet has an outdoor-rated, polyester-powder coat finish, a heavy-duty continuous door hinge, and a weather-tight, foam-in-place door gasket. Options include a wide range of standard colors and custom silk screening, choice of cabinet mounting configurations, choice of battery-mounting arrangements, security features, thermal management components and systems, seismic compliance per Bellcore GR-487-core, EMC/grounding, and ventilation. The cabinet meets or exceeds all applicable Bellcore, UL, CSA and NEMA standards. Pricing starts at $1500 with delivery time depending on the configuration required.
