SCSI Terminator Hews Closely To Spec

The DS2118M is a multimode Ultra2 SCSI terminator that's said to hold termination resistance more closely to the 110 ohm specification than comparable devices. Fully compliant with emerging Ultra2 SCSI specs, the DS2118M is a low-voltage differential/single-ended device that provides active termination for nine signal-line pairs.Because resistor ladder structures are laser trimmed within each device, the terminator is able to hold the SCSI-specified 110 ohm termination resistance to ±5%. The chip has a power-down capacitance of 3 pF and includes thermal shutdown circuitry. Automatic sensing of the voltage on the SCSI bus's DIFFSENS line adjusts for LVD and/or SE connections.
