Beaverton, OR-The development of products for the power conversion marketplace will be the focus of a new division in LeCroy Corp.'s Oscilloscope Business Unit. The new division has already developed PowerMeasure analysis tools that are said to provide power conversion engineers with unprecedented measurement capabilities. The "PMT" packages, which combine probing measurement and analysis capabilities, can be used with 40 models of the firm's digital oscilloscopes. These scopes are equipped with trigger and record-length features to perform many difficult power-related measurements more easily and accurately. Included in the PMT packages are differential amplifiers, differential passive probes, current probes, and software designed specifically for power measurement and analysis. When these tools are bundled with a DSO, instantaneous power measurements, device and circuit characterization, loop stability measurements, and harmonic analysis can be quickly conducted.
