Vector Network Analyzers Study Noise

Feb. 1, 1999

In addition to serving as RF vector network analyzers (VNAs), the MS462x family of benchtop instruments can also make error-corrected noise figure measurements on active devices used in wireless communications- the measurement capability also allows the VNAs to make both S-parameter and NF measurements with the single test connection. MS462x VNAs also feature an optional third test port that simplifies testing of multiple-port components, such as duplexers, combiners and couplers. The new VNA family embraces four basic models: MS4622A/B spanning a 10 MHz to 3 GHz range and MS4623A/B, 10 MHz to 6 GHz, with the A models equipped with non-reversing transmission/reflection test sets and the B units incorporating reversing test sets for automatic forward and reverse S-parameter measurements.
