Gigabit Link Module Connectors Tout High EMI/RFI Protection

Feb. 1, 1999

Offering enhanced EMI/RFI characteristics compared with previously available connectors and delivering a highly reliable interconnection for copper cables used in GLM systems, DB9 connector for Gigabit Link Module applications has a mechanical design that reduces internal parts count. The one-piece, die-cast metal shield housing provides high EMI/RFI protection, with the connector's one-piece insulator molded of a liquid crystal polymer formulated specifically for solder reflow. Th connector offers phosphor-bronze contacts with 30 µinches of gold on the mating end and tin-lead on the termination end over a nickel base. All contacts are formed for straddle-mount applications.
