Duluth, GA-Using a modem and a simple telephone connection, users of Heraeus Amersil Inc.'s TeleSupport capabilities can reportedly link their reflow systems directly to the firm's Service Support Center, where an engineer can immediately transfer real-time machine data for evaluation. Service specialists can quickly solve technical questions and develop customer solutions online. Using a secure, direct link to firm's equipment, service engineers can evaluate oven temperatures, component profiles, perform error analysis and, if necessary, directly control the system itself. The cost of the system is minimal: the user needs only to supply the telephone connection with the firm providing the necessary software and modem.
