Monitor Keeps Tabs On ESD

July 1, 1999

Designed to meet the specified performance requirements of BS EN 100015 PT1: 1991, the 1604 workstation monitor is for operators wearing an ESD wrist-strap. The system carries out on-line checks of the operator and workstation connections. Should a failure be detected, the monitor automatically provides visual and audible alarms. The unit monitors the integrity of equipment used in the prevention of ESD and uses a dc voltage of less than 2V for analysis, relying on resistance measurement to detect failure.
