July 1, 1999

NETWORK TROUBLESHOOTING—Networking problems are said to be a thing of the past when consulting InterlinkBT, a new troubleshooting guide for users of DeviceNet fieldbus networks. The support manual allows qualified service personnel to determine the causes of network problems and quickly implement remedies that minimize network downtime. The manual includes 10 pages of information, including informative diagrams, a “quick-start” procedure, network layout considerations, and identification of problems and their corrective actions. Also included are logical steps to test network termination, power supply ground, power common mode voltage, CANH/CANL voltage and transceiver resistance.
