Fiber Connectors Link Premises Networks

Aug. 1, 1999

FirstLink combination two-fiber connector and adapter is part of firm’s LANscape2 Solution for premises networking. LANscape2 Solutions are designed to increase density of campus backbone, building backbone and horizontal applications. Like its no-epoxy, no-polish UniCam connector, FirstLink connection has a pre-polished endface built in. Two fiber studs inside the connector are cleaved on one end and located inside the mechanical splice. The installation method is so easy it can be compared with terminating a speaker wire. No special installation tools are needed. The FirstLink connection is fully compatible with the MT-RJ and SC-DC connectors and with traditional tight-buffered cables such as firm’s MIC2 optical fiber cables.
