Ruggedized PC Enclosure Withstands Factory Floor’s Rigors

Sept. 1, 1999

In the Model 714P, a general-purpose, ruggedized enclosure, designers will find a housing fit for many demanding applications, such as data acquisition, factory automation and computer telephony. The unit measures 17" wide x 19.5" deep x 7" high. It’s equipped with a 14-slot ISA passive backplane, but can easily accommodate a variety of PCI/ISA dual bus backplanes offering four, six or seven PCI slots. Optional split backplanes are also available for multiple system operation. The enclosure also comes standard with a 300W, 115/230 vac power supply. Three front-accessible, shock-mounted 5.25" peripheral bays can be configured horizontally or vertically (Models 714PH or 714PV, respectively). A fourth internal 3.5" drive bay is also available. A variety of configurations can be provided to meet end users’ specific requirements, including paint and silkscreen, custom I/O panels, or system integration and test. Three fans provide cooling.
