The HI5905N is a 14-bit A/D converter tailored for use in military electronic systems. The device is the firm’s first under the Defense Supply Center Columbus Class N initiative. It’s designed for high-speed, high-resolution applications in which wide bandwidth, low power consumption and excellent SINAD performance are essential. The part converts analog signals from sensors, antennas and linear circuits to digital format. Fabricated in an advanced BiCMOS process, the converter is designed with a differential pipelined architecture with front-end differential-in and differential-out sample-and-hold amplifier. It offers full power input bandwidth at 100 MHz, a 5-MSPS sampling rate, and a low noise floor of 74.6 dB typical at 1 MHz.
