Enclosure System Easily Survives 7.1 Richter Scale Earthquakes

Certified as Network Equipment Building Systems (NEBS) Zone 4 compliant, the Magnitude VII seismic enclosure system can withstand earthquakes registering up to 7.1 on the Richter scale. The enclosure was physically tested to Bellcore GR-63-CORE seismic requirements and passed with no frame deformation. The NEBS Certificate of Compliance qualifies the Mag VII to handle a load distribution of 700 lbs.
In terms of size, seven-foot cabinets are claimed to be the most popular, but there is no average size as all enclosures are made to order. The amount of weight each enclosure can hold depends on the frame chosen. Pro Series frames can hold up to 1,000 lbs., Advantage frames can hold up to 1,500 lbs., and the Magnitude VII, as mentioned, can hold up to 700 lbs. The enclosure can safely contain just about anything from electronic equipment to medical supplies.
Depending on user-defined size and weight capacity, an enclosure can cost between $1,200 to $5,000 with a guaranteed delivery time of three weeks.
