Sept. 1, 2000

The company has developed two new audio/video driver ICs that support two or four video and four audio channels and are said to offer a number of interesting features. The AVPro 5000A is a two-video and four-audio driver IC designed to support two composite video signals and two pairs of right and left audio signals. The other device, called the AVPro 5000B, is a four-video and four-audio driver IC designed to support two composite video, one set of S-Video (Y & C), and two pairs of right and left audio signals. For both devices, each video driver has a gain of two within the output buffer and are designed to drive a 150 ohm load. Each audio driver is capable of providing a nominal output of 2Vrms, 3.2Vrms maximum, and the gain of each audio driver is individually set using a pair of external resistors. The AVPro 5000A A/V driver is available in a 20-lead SOIC package priced at $1.10 each/10,000. The AVPro 5000B is available in the same type package and is priced at $1.30 each/10,000.
