ASIC Eyes Digital Copier And Printer Markets

Targeting the workgroup digital copier and printer markets, the QP+405 controller-on-a-chip processor includes all the major processing and control units required for printing into a single component. The device's design is claimed to reduce the number of required controller parts. The main modules integrated into the device are the company's seventh generation of QuickPrint graphic co-processing core and IBM's PowerPC 405 core operating at 200 MHz and close to 300 MIPS.
