Fiber Receiver Suits Small Form-Factor Modules

Nov. 1, 2000

Specifically designed for use in small form-factor (SFF) modules for Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel fiber optic networks, the AMT128503T56F fiber receiver consists of a monolithically integrated metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) diode and a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) integrated in a small, TO-56 package. The device offers a typical sensitivity of -22 dBm and a minimum responsivity of 1000V/W with a total power dissipation of about 120 mW. The device operates from a 3.3V supply, provides a minimum bandwidth of 1 GHz, and features an on-chip automatic gain control circuit that enables it to handle optical input powers up to 0 dBm. Pricing is $8.10 each/1,000.
