High-Bandwidth Cable Eyes Copper InfiniBand Links

Feb. 1, 2001

The high-bandwidth SKEWCLEAR Plus family is designed for copper InfiniBand links running at 500 MB through 6-GB bandwidths. The shielded differential cable technology addresses the issues of low skew, low crosstalk, minimum termination reflections and low assembly cost. The cables are available in 2-, 8-, 12- and 24-pair differential twin axial constructions with a range of AWG sizes depending on link length. The shielded parallel pairs have an in-pair skew of less than 4ps/ft and pair-to-pair skew of less than 13ps/ft. Near end crosstalk is less than -55 dB at 1 GHz. The pairs are then automatically aligned with the centerline of the connector contacts.
