Laser Tach Performs Touch/No-Touch Measurement

June 1, 2001

The PLT-5000 pocket-laser tachometer uses a class 1 laser as the light source and can be used for both contact and non-contact measuring. For non-contact use, the laser beam provides an effective measurement range of up to 60" from the target. Contact measuring is performed with a contact adapter and a supplied set of wheel and cone adapters. The tachometer provides up to 14 memories and provides single button selection of measurement units such as rpm, velocity in meters/minute, feet/minute, yards/minute, inches/minute, and length in meters, yards and feet. Three AA batteries provide up to 40 hours of continuous use and low battery and over range indicators deliver operational feedback.
