Flash Microcontrollers Tackle CAN Applications

Nov. 1, 2001

Said to be ideal for space-limited embedded CAN (Controller Area Network) applications, a new family of 28-lead self-programmable Flash microcontrollers employ an intelligent CAN 2.0B active interface. Also claimed as the smallest and most powerful CAN solutions available, the PIC18F248, PIC-18F258, PIC18F448 and PIC-18F458 feature up to 32 KB of flash memory, up to 1.5 KB of user SRAM and 256 bytes of data EEPROM. Operating range for the devices is 2V to 5.5V. Pricing is $4.74 each/10,000 for the PIC18F248, $5.16 for the PIC-18F258, $5.06 for the PIC18F448, and $5.46 for the PIC18F458.
