MCU Family Adds More Powerful Members

Feb. 1, 2002

Eight devices that expand the FlashFlex51 family of eight-bit, 8051-compatible microcontrollers feature increase flash memory and SRAM and higher clock speeds. The SST89E554, V554, E554RC, V554RC, E564, V564, E564RD and V564RD employ the company's proprietary SuperFlash technology combined with a dual-block flash architecture that supports in-application programming and read-while-write concurrent operation. The chips include 1 KB of SRAM and provide clock speeds up to 40 MHz. In addition, they can be programmed wither a single 3V or 5V power supply. Depending on the device, prices range from $3.05 to $3.70 each/100,000. SILICON STORAGE TECHNOLOGY, INC., Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 778-2447.
