Trio Of 18-Bit SAR ADCs Boast Of High Sampling Rates

These three additions to the PulSAR family of successive approximation register (SAR) A/D converters are designed to support sampling rates of 800 ksamples/s (AD7674), 100 ksamples/s (AD7678), and 570 ksamples/s (AD7679). The three 18-bit, monolithic devices promise no missing codes, guarantee performance over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, and are specified at ±2.5 LSB INL. Typical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and total harmonic distortion (THD) are100 dB and –110 dB, respectively. Other features include differential inputs, a conversion clock, serial and parallel outputs, 5V operation, and a 7 mW power-down mode. Offered in 48-lead, chip-scale LQFPs and LFCSPs, the AD7674, AD7678 and AD7679 are priced at $39, $24 and $32 each/1,000, respectively.
