PMC Module Provides PCI-X Connectivity

Dec. 1, 2002

Debuting as the market’s first PMC module to include PCI-X capability, the PM/PPC-440 processor mezzanine card claims to leverage low power, system-on-chip technology, and low cost to surpass the performance of comparable modules. The card employs a PowerPC 440GP system-on-chip and operates at up to 400 MHz. Features include up to 128 MB of flash memory and 64 MB to 1 GB of DDR SDRAM with ECC, dual 10/100 Ethernet ports, and an asynchronous serial port with front or rear connectors. In addition, it supports an optional development mezzanine card that provides access to the inputs and outputs during the development cycle and a JTAG/COP interface. Price is less than $500 each.
