Two series of wet tantalum capacitors come in true surface-mountable molded packages. The M34 and M35 capacitors have a higher ripple current capability than any other electrolytic type with similar combinations of capacitance and case size, according to the manufacturer. In addition, the M35 features a 3-V reverse voltage capability at 85°C. Capacitance range is 10 µF at 125 V to 120 µF at 25 V for the M34. The M35 series range is 1.7 µF at 125 V to 220 µF at 6 V. Terminations are either tin-lead or 100% tin (RoHS-compliant). Operating temperature range is ?55°C to 85°C, and up to 125°C with voltage derating. Standard tolerance is ±20% at 120 Hz and 25°C, but ±5% and ±10% devices are also available. Samples and production quantities of the M34 and M35 capacitors are available now, with leads times of about 20 weeks for larger quantities. The M34 capacitors cost $41.15 each, and the M35 devices cost $29.10 each. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY INC., Malvern, PA. (619) 336-0860.
