The CSSC is a spread-spectrum oscillator that is specially designed to lower an end product’s radiated electromagnetic interference when compared to the same product with a conventional oscillator. The programmable device operates from 1.5 to 200 MHz and will help systems achieve lower cost and FCC approvals. The first in a series, the CSSC is a surface-mount device with HCMOS output. It is pin-compatible with conventional SMD oscillators, making it a simple drop-in replacement. The device operates from 3.3 V and 2.5 V and is available in standard 5-x-7-mm and 5-x-3.2-mm four-pad packages featuring hermetically-sealed ceramic construction. Additional features include stability options of 50 and 100 PPM maintained over temperature ranges of 0°C to +70°C, -20°C to +70°C, and -40°C to +85°C. The center spread is ±0.25% ±2%, and the down spread is –0.50% -4% making the CSSC suitable for applications such as copiers, LANs, printers, scanners, industrial automation, consumer electronics, and markets requiring rapid EMI resolution for products going to production quickly. Sample quantity pricing is around $4.00 each and quantity pricing is $1.75 each in lots of 1000 for the HCMOS version in the 5-x-7-mm ceramic package. CARDINAL COMPONENTS INC., Wayne, NJ.
