The Fly-Buck LM25017, LM25018 and LM25019 from TI are 48 V, synchronous buck regulators with integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs for single- and multi-output power supplies. The dc/dc converters feature constant on-time control architecture providing significant load transient response while eliminating loop compensation and reducing board space by up to a purported 40%, when compared with traditional designs requiring multiple converters. Pin-compatible LLP and PSOP packaging offers scalability covering a range of power requirements, and each Fly-Buck converter can be configured to provide positive and negative voltage rails, or isolated multiple outputs with cross-regulation. Integrated high- and low-side N-Channel MOSFETs improve efficiency and eliminate the need for external Schottky diodes. Offered in thermally-enhanced 8-pin LLP and PSOP packages, Fly-Buck converters are available in volume now, with the 650 mA LM25017 priced at $1.25 each/1,000, the 300 mA LM25018 at $1.12 each/1,000 and the 100 mA LM25018 at $1.00 each/1,000. AECQ-100 qualified versions will be available in May 2013.
