High-Speed CAN Transceivers Meet EMC Requirements

Family of transceivers meet CAN specification requirement GIFT ICT Group Conformance Test Specification V1.0 and other global automotive EMC requirements.

Microchip’s MCP2561/2 family of transceivers meet CAN specification requirement GIFT ICT Group Conformance Test Specification V1.0 in addition to other global automotive EMC requirements such as Hardware Requirements for LIN, CAN and FlexRay Interfaces in Automotive Applications. The new family of transceivers is comprised of two devices, the MCP2561, an HS CAN transceiver featuring a SPLIT pin, and the MCP2562, also an HS CAN transceiver but with a Vio pin. The transceivers boast an industry low standby current consumption (<5 µA typical), and both parts are available in 8-lead PDIP, SOIC and 3x3 mm DFN (leadless) packages. The devices support both Extended: −40°C to +125°C and High: −40°C to +150°C temperature ranges and are suited for applications in the automotive market, such as power train, body and convenience, diagnostics, safety and security, and in the industrial market, including manufacturing, construction and agriculture. MCP2561 and MCP2562 transceivers are available now in 8-pin PDIP, SOIC, DFN 3x3 mm packages with prices starting at $0.63 each/10,000.
