Claiming advantages and cost savings over printed carbon resistors (PCRs), the N-15 4.4 mm, customizable control potentiometer and position sensor features endless 360û rotation. The component is produced on a FR4 PCB substrate that allows customization without incurring a significant tooling charge. Exhibiting the ability to print and hold tight tolerances on resistive curves on the backside of the PCB, the N-15 can also be deployed as a switch and rheostat. Features include an electrical angle of 340¡ ± 10¡, extended operating temperature range from -40¡C to +120¡C, and availability in SMD or through-hole mounting. It comes standard with a polarized T rotor that allows shafts to be inserted from either side. Available options include laser trimming, geared rotors, parts with detents, special mechanical angles, step curves with silver dead zones, and custom resistive curves. Pricing in quantity is $0.68 each. PIHER INTERNATIONAL CORP., Libertyville, IL. (888) 701-5494.
