Next-Gen Foil Resistors Raise Performance Bars

Dec. 14, 2010
Based on the latest generation of the company’s Bulk Metal Z-Foil technology, the VHZ series hermetically sealed metrology and laboratory-grade, ultra-high-precision resistors claim benchmark capabilities for accuracy, stability, and speed.

Based on the latest generation of the company’s Bulk Metal Z-Foil technology, the VHZ series hermetically sealed metrology and laboratory-grade, ultra-high-precision resistors claim benchmark capabilities for accuracy, stability, and speed. The components feature a TCR of ±0.2 ppm/°C typical from -55°C to +125°C at a +25°C reference and ±0.05 ppm/°C from 0°C to +60°C. Resistance tolerance is down to ±0.005% with 0.001% available. Other specs include a load life stability to ±0.005% (50 ppm) at +70°C for 10,000 hours at 0.15W and a power TCR (ΔR due to self-heating) of ±5 ppm at a rated power of 0.6W at +70°C and 0.3W at +125°C. Pricing for the VHZ series resistors starts at $12.97 each. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY, INC., Malvern, PA. (619) 336-0860.
