The result of expanding its high current power film capacitor series, the company now offers components with more than 120 different voltage ratings up to 1,300 Vdc and capacitance values up to 1,500 µF. The Type 947C metallized polypropylene film capacitors deliver higher bus capacitances with the ripple current handling capabilities required for inverters in wind, solar, and fuel cell applications connected to the power grid. The Type 947C capacitors employ advanced, metallized polypropylene film technology to provide ripple current ratings to 100A at 55°C with an operating voltage up to 1,300 Vdc. Standard capacitance values range up to 1,500 µF at 800V, 1,200 µF at 900V, 970 µF at 1,000V, 800 µF at 1,100V, 600 µF at 1,200V, and 560 µF at 1,300V with tolerances to ±10% and an operating temperature range from –40°C to +85°C. Special ratings are also available. Pricing for the Type 947C Series capacitors starts at $35 each in OEM quantities. Cornell Dubilier Electronics Inc., Liberty, SC. (864) 843-2277.
