Security and Safety in the Cloud and IoT

Sept. 9, 2025
In today’s cloud-based society, we must address safety, trust, and security or we’ll lose the advantages of our technology to theft and fraud.

The plethora of smart, connected devices has created a variety of new opportunities for how we work, live, and interact. However, it’s also introduced data privacy and security risks. Ever since people had things of value to protect, security has been an issue in society. Finally, though, most people now recognize the critical need for internet safety and cybersecurity

In this podcast, we talk to Denis Noël, Director & Head of Product Marketing, Secure Connected Edge, NXP Semiconductors, about security in the cloud and IoT. He talks about how modern ecosystems require heightened security and privacy, from the center of the cloud to the edge. Every use case is different, and the security involved should vary as well, with different solutions providing the scalability to take on a range of security needs.

Today’s security solutions must include isolated and easy-to-integrate security companions, including secure elements and authenticators, leveraging embedded security in microcontrollers, processors, and application-specific products. There also must be trust provisioning and cloud onboarding services to protect sensitive information at every endpoint.
