The Power Accessory Distribution System (PADS) is a rugged, ready-to-use, drop-in power source that delivers 110 V ac, 12 V dc, and 5 V dc in military vehicles using a standard 28-V dc power system. As such, PADS allows soldiers to power many electronic devices that would otherwise not be supported by the vehicles’ traditional power supply. The system provides power conditioning and two each 12-V “cigarette lighter” receptacles, 110-V ac outlets, 5-V USB ports, and an 18-30-V connector. Its main housing is only 14” by 6” by 3.1”, and the system operates over a –30°C to +55°C range. PADS includes ground-fault circuit interrupters on the ac outlets and is circuit-breaker protected.
