AC-DC Power Supply Achieves 92% Efficiency At 50% Full Load

Jan. 9, 2014
Murata’s D1U86G series front-end power supplies achieve a minimum conversion efficiency of 92% at 50% full load. Each unit’s efficiency lowers cooling requirements and saves power in servers and communications infrastructure equipment.

Murata’s D1U86G series front-end power supplies achieve a minimum conversion efficiency of 92% at 50% full load. Each unit’s efficiency lowers cooling requirements and saves power in servers and communications infrastructure equipment.

With their 1U form factor, the supplies measure only 86.0 by 196.9 by 39.9 mm, which is great for length-limited applications and mid-plane design architectures.

Both models in the series provide a +12-V dc/460-W output with either back-to-front or front-to-back airflow. They accommodate the universal ac input range from 90 to 264 V ac and are power factor corrected. An internal variable speed fan provides forced air cooling.

The supplies operate from 0°C to 50°C without any derating due to line input or temperature. Features include hot-swapping and hot-plug capability and droop current sharing for up to eight supplies to be connected together.
