The AAT1152, an 850-kHz, 1A buck dc/dc converter, integrates a power-okay (POK) function that monitors the output, alerting the system if the output voltage falls out of regulation. Target applications include cable/DSL modems, computer peripherals, 5V and 3.3V power supplies, network cards, and set top boxes. The device accepts a maximum input of 5.5V and delivers either a fixed or variable output of 1V to 4.2V in 100-mV increments. Output current is up to 1A. Other features include low on-resistance power switches, synchronous rectification, up to 95% efficiency, an internally-compensated current mode control, initial accuracy of 1%, constant PWM mode, internal soft start, and current-limit and over-temperature protection. The device is available in an MSOP-8 package. ADVANCED ANALOGIC TECHNOLOGIES INC., Sunnyvale, CA. _(408) 737-4600.
