Compact 60-W Power Supply Certified For Medical Apps

Dec. 11, 2013
SL Power Electronics’ MB60S single-output, convection-cooled power supplies deliver 60 W of power in a 2- by 3- by 1.0-in. package.

SL Power Electronics’ MB60S single-output, convection-cooled power supplies deliver 60 W of power in a 2- by 3- by 1.0-in. package. The high-density supplies are certified for use in patient-vicinity and patient-contact applications (e.g., blood-pressure monitors or ultrasound equipment) that come near, or in direct contact with, the patient. Standards approval include EN/IEC/UL60601-1, 3rd edition with Means of Patient Protection (2x MOPP). Input is the universal 90 to 264 V ac; dc outputs range from 12 to 48 V. Operating temperature ranges from −10 to 80°C with −40°C startup. No-load power consumption drops to less than 0.5 W. The six RoHS-compliant MB60S models feature protection against short circuit, overload, overtemperature, and overvoltage. Mean time between failure (MTBF) stretches beyond 700,000 hours. All models meet electromagnetic-compatibility (EMC) requirements for applications requiring Class B EMI.
