DC-Coupled A-D/D-A Card Takes On Wide-Spectrum Apps

Feb. 18, 2014
DC-Coupled A-D/D-A Card Takes On Wide-Spectrum Apps Based on the FPGA Mezzanine Card standard for multichannel data acquisition and high-speed signal processing/recording, 4DSP’s dc-coupled card features two channels of 14-bit analog-to-digital at 250 Msamples/s and two channels of 16-bit digital-to-analog at 800 Msamples/s.

Based on the FPGA Mezzanine Card standard for multichannel data acquisition and high-speed signal processing/recording, 4DSP’s dc-coupled card features two channels of 14-bit analog-to-digital at 250 Msamples/s and two channels of 16-bit digital-to-analog at 800 Msamples/s. The FMC151 wideband transceiver solution’s design centers around Texas Instruments’ ADS62P49 analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and DAC3283 digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The dc-coupled analog-signal inputs connect to MMCX/SSMC coax connectors on the front panel and the input. Input and output have digitally controlled offset correction. The FMC VITA 57.1-compliant card allows for flexible control on clock source, analog-input gain, and offset correction via serial-communication buses. It comes with power-supply and temperature monitoring; several power-down modes switch off unused functions to reduce system-level power and heat. Applications include software-defined radios, batteries, and other low-power sources.
