Two dual N-channel and two dual P-channel 20-V MOSFET ball-grid-array(BGA) products have the physical and electrical performance characteristics required for lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery-pack protection. The FDZ2551N, FDZ2553N, FDZ2552P, and FDZ2554P devices come in a 4- by 2.5-mm surface-mount MOSFET BGA package with a common drain connection. The package has a 10-mm2 footprint and a 0.8-mm maximum mounted height. The FDZ2554P achieves an on-resistance rating of 28 mΩ at 4.5 V, which is 79% lower than competitive dual 20-V, TSOP-6 P-channel MOSFETs. The N-channel FDZ2553N has an RDS(ON) rating of 14mΩ at 4.5 V and 20 mΩ at 2.5 V. The FDZ2551N, FDZ2552P, FDZ2553N, and FDZ2554P cost $1.44, $1.49, $1.56, and $1.59 each, respectively. All pricing is for 1000-unit quantities.
