For handheld apps, the STC3105 battery monitoring gas gauge pairs a 2 x 3 x 0.8 mm footprint with high measurement accuracy and a 60-µA power consumption to increase battery runtime. It uses open-circuit voltage and coulomb-counter methods to estimate battery capacity and supervise charge/discharge status. Other features include a programmable alarm output.
