Designed for applications in portable communications devices, modems, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and other battery-powered products, the TK717 series of low dropout (LDO) regulators comes in a small SOT23-5 package. The regulators have an operating voltage range from 1.8V to 14V and an output voltage range from 1.5V to 5V.Reported as being stable when used with low ESR capacitors, the new LDOs have a typical continuous output current of 250 mA and quiescent current of 72 µA at no load. Standby current is 100 pA typical. Other features include a ripple rejection of 90 dB at 400 Hz and 80 dB at 1 kHz, and a built-in shunt circuit. Both a TTL/CMOS enable pin and bypass pin are standard. Price is $0.49 each/9,000. For more details, call TOKO AMERICA INC., Mount Prospect, IL. (847) 297-0070.
